Each day of the week has its own Kerala lottery, drawn in Thiruvananthapuram by the Kerala State Lotteries Department. The result for every draw is usually announced from around 3 PM IST and published as an official gazette shortly after.

Kerala's daily lotteries carry names with clear social themes — Karunya, for example, is long associated with the state's health-support scheme, while Sthree Sakthi ('woman power') and Samrudhi ('prosperity') reflect the welfare framing the state gives its lotteries. The proceeds support state programmes, which is part of why the scheme enjoys such broad public trust.

Because these names are set administratively, the department can and does revise them over time, and occasionally introduces or retires a ticket. Be wary of anyone offering to sell Kerala lottery tickets online, especially through social media or messaging apps, and of any 'agent' who wants extra money or asks you to pay after a draw.
